The e-Education project is to achieve educational equality in Rwanda by using distance-learning technology. Aiming to overcome the gap between schools with less equipment for chemical practical and those with enough facilities, the project will shoot chemical practical lectures of a best teacher (Kasungwa Gerald, at Gashora Girls Academy) in Rwanda and show the video contents to the students without chemical laboratories.
In Rwanda, 87% of people still live in rural areas and employed in the agricultural sector. It is beyond obvious that such people are not in need of advanced technologies or newly invented softwares. What the e-Education Project simultaneously does is to break the walls between rich and poor by simple innovation, ICT. In essence, the country could develop only if people in the bottom of the pyramid are prospered, especially in an instance of Rwanda, where the poverty gap is still huge. However, it is also vital to comprehend that there needs to be people who could instigate an innovation, like IT entrepreneurs in kLab. In the field of business, social business is something I would like to pursue and disseminate in Rwanda. This frankly consists of a 'win-win' business model as it targets to maximise profits, but also it solves existing social problems.
I personally believe, at the moment in Rwanda, this 'advanced-technology-market' is growing too fast, and this 'basic-technology-market' needs to catch up step by step. Thus, my project will fit into Rwanda ICT model and am confident that the e-Education Project will create more entrepreneurs, who managed to get out of the poverty cycle via ICT with full of potential in the future.
