I've been self employed since December 2007 when I packed up my life in London, UK and moved to Asia to travel and work on my website business. I started my first site (http://www.travoholic.com) in 2001 and have built up a portfolio of around 20 sites. Most are travel-related, offering advice for budget travel, working holidays, and moving to various cities around the world. Moving to Asia allowed me to dedicate more time to my websites and build it into a viable business.
I make a small amount through Adsense (http://www.adsense.com), affiliate sales (selling products/insurance/hotels etc through my websites), selling an ebook on volunteering internationally and most of my income currently comes from selling advertising on my network of websites.
I'm currently working on the site http://www.livinginkampala.com with a partner who lives there and I also run http://www.livinginkigali.com. You can read more on my online 'career' on my blog http://www.nerdynomad.com. |
