Meet Akaliza Gara ,this Monday for her Ishusho Comic App Presentation.

Ishusho's a platform for comic strips, specifically targeting a Rwandan audience, shared via a mobile application and web interface.

While conducting comparative study of the digital media industries in Japan and Rwanda,she discovered that Japanese comics (Manga),play a vital role in the development of Japanese animated content (Anime). Japanese children access locally made digital media content, such as anime. Rwandan children, on the other hand, cannot access locally made digital media content, and are often exposed to only foreign content e.g.Disney, Nickelodeon,etc.

Ishusho'll hopefully address this issue by promoting Rwandan comics, which in turn should lead to an increased demand and supply of Rwandan cartoons and animated films.The purpose of the demo is to showcase the prototype and receive feedback regarding the viability and appeal of the application to Rwandan artists and everyday consumers.
